Usually the establishment of the union was the thought of establishing a body aimed at strengthening the relationship between banks operating in Egypt, unifying banking systems, studying laws related to banking business and exchanging opinions on the means of developing trade and industry.
It dates back to 1936 when what was called the “Conference des Banques” was formed, and the committee exercised its tasks of studying the affairs of the banks operating in Egypt, and one of its most important achievements was the unification of the prices of the main banking services performed by banks.
